Tyson Giuriato Hockey Camp Scholarship

Tyson Giuriato was the Director of Media and Communications for the ²´˜·ŠÊ˜·³Çapp (²´˜·ŠÊ˜·³Çapp) when he passed away unexpectedly in 2020.

A lifelong hockey fan, Tyson attended youth hockey camps, played for Vancouver Island Amateur Hockey Association teams, and trained at the Banff Hockey Academy before establishing himself as a journalist, writing for both Hockey Canada and his beloved Vancouver Canucks. Outside of work, he enjoyed his boxer dogs, road trips, camping, barbecuing, fishing, and sports. Joining the ²´˜·ŠÊ˜·³Çapp in 2013, Tyson made an immediate impact with his knowledge of the game, engagement with student-athletes, and tracking of alumni success. As Director, he was responsible for social media, press releases, and publicity, playing a pivotal role in growing the league across Canada.

In honour of Tyson’s passion and contributions to the game of hockey, his family and the ²´˜·ŠÊ˜·³Çapp established the annual Tyson Giuriato Hockey Camp Scholarship. Every year, the scholarship awards six families $600 each to send their child to a hockey camp of their choice.
