Hockey Canada announced that 25 female players have been selected to represent Team Canada at the 2021 IIHF Women\u2019s World Championship from August 20-31 at WinSport Arena at Canada Olympic Park in Calgary, AB.<\/p>\n
Among those selected include forward Emily Clark who was with Okanagan Hockey Academy (OHA) for the 2012\/13 and 2013\/14 seasons. She has won two U18 gold medals, three World Championship silvers and one bronze, and a silver medal at the 2018 Olympics.<\/p>\n
The 10-team tournament features Canada in Group A with Finland, ROC, Switzerland and the United States, while Group B is comprised of the Czech Republic, Denmark, Germany, Hungary and Japan.<\/p>\n
Canada has captured 10 gold medals at the IIHF Women\u2019s World Championship with their most recent win coming in 2012. In addition to the 10 gold medals they have won 8 silver and 1 bronze.<\/p>\n
The roster was selected from the 29 players chosen to centralize with Canada\u2019s National Women\u2019s Team for the 2021-22 season, leading up to the 2022 Olympic Winter Games in Beijing, China.<\/p>\n
Micah Zandee-Hart, who spent four seasons with OHA from 2011-2015, was one of those 29 players but was not selected for the World Championships. Zandee-Hart has a U18 gold and silver medals, to go along with a World Championship bronze.<\/p>\n
