Edwards spent two seasons in the ²´˜·ŠÊ˜·³Çapp with the Northern Alberta Xtreme (NAX), capturing a U16 Prep Championship in 2018. Overall, he would play 63 games split between the NAX U16 Prep and U18 Prep teams, recording 49 points.

Elick has signed with the Columbus Blue Jackets after they selected him in the second round, 36th overall at the 2024 NHL Draft. The Calgary, AB defenseman joined Edge School in 2020/21, playing with their U15 Prep team. In 2021/22 he would tally 25 points in 26 U18 Prep games while being named the ²´˜·ŠÊ˜·³Çapp U18 Prep Top Freshman Award winner.

The Brandon Wheat Kings would select Elick with the third overall pick at the 2021 WHL Draft where he would spend his first two-and-a-half WHL season before joining the Tri-City Americans midway through this year. In 196 career WHL games Elick has 10 goals and 45 assists.

Undrafted to the NHL, Taylor has signed a contract with the Dallas Stars. Taylor spent the 2017/18 season with the Delta Hockey Academy U16 Prep team, posting 12 goals and 16 assists in 35 games.

At the conclusion of the season the Regina Pats selected Wood in the second round, 41st overall at the 2020 WHL Draft. However, Wood took the NCAA route.

TheLethbridge, AB forward spent two seasons with the University of Connecticut before transferring to the University of Minnesota this season. In 109 NCAA games Wood recorded 44 goals and 57 assists while being named to the NCAA (Hockey East) All-Rookie Team in 2022/23.

Delta Hockey Academy has returned to the top of the mountain, winning the 2025 ²´˜·ŠÊ˜·³Çapp (²´˜·ŠÊ˜·³Çapp) U15 Prep Division I Western Championship for the first time since 2022.

Delta (Delta, BC) would do so by beating the back-to-back defending champion Northern Alberta Xtreme (Devon, AB), who won in 2023 and 2024.

NAX would cruise through the regular season, finishing in first place in the regular season along with winning the John Reid Memorial tournament. They would go 2-0 in round robin play before dismantling Edge School (Calgary, AB) 6-1 in the quarters, and STAR Hockey Academy (Kent, WA) 3-0 in the semis.

Delta came into the Championships as the four seed while winning the Canadian Crown Tournament in December. They would finish second in Pool A behind NAX to set-up a quarter-final game against RHA Winnipeg (Winnipeg, MB), winning that game with ease. Their semi-final would be a different story as they would play Yale Hockey Academy (Abbotsford, BC) in a game that was scoreless through 60 minutes of play. Casey Pearson would be the hero for Delta, sending them through to the finals with a 1-0 win.

Riding the high of their semi-final win, Delta scored 29 seconds in as defenseman Ryker Doka beat Karter Gibson (23/27) from an impossible angle. Top ranked NAX would tie the game midway through the first as Kalen Miles (2G) scored on the power play from a familiar spot in front of the net.

Delta would come out flying again in the second as Ronan Gow tipped home a point shot, beating Gibson high blocker 3:05 into the frame. NAX would create a flurry of chances but it was Conor Nicolson (1G, 1A) who extended the lead for Delta, beating Gibson with a shot off the rush. Captain Tripp Fischer (1G, 1A) would add to the lead 59 seconds later, burying a puck in front to put his team up 4-1 heading into the third.

But NAX wouldn’t go away quietly as Brady Ondrus beat Jack Utsunomiya (44/47) over the shoulder from a sharp angle 3:29 into the third. Miles would then scoop home another rebound in front 3:27 later as NAX fought back within one with more than 13 minutes left to play.

NAX would continue to apply pressure the remainder of the way but Utsunomiya shut the door to give Delta their second ²´˜·ŠÊ˜·³Çapp U15 Prep Division I Championship.

For the second time in program history Edge School has captured a ²´˜·ŠÊ˜·³Çapp (²´˜·ŠÊ˜·³Çapp) U15 Division I Western Championship.

The Calgary, AB squad did so with a 6-2 win over the defending back-to-back Northern Alberta Xtreme (Devon, AB). Edge’s previous U15 Division I Western Championship came in 2022 before NAX won in 2023 and 2024.

After finishing first during the regular season with a ²´˜·ŠÊ˜·³Çapp record 101 points, Edge finished first in Pool A during the round robin before defeating Calgary International Hockey Academy (Calgary, AB) in the quarter-finals and Delta Hockey Academy Black (Delta, BC) in the semi-fnals.

NAX finished fourth in the regular season and second in Pool A in the round robin before defeating the North Shore Warriors (North Vancouver, BC) in the quarter-finals. A dramatic 1-0 win in the semi-finals over BWC Academy (Burnaby, BC) propelled NAX into a finals match against their provincial rival.

In the finals, it was NAX who grabbed an early 1-0 lead as Jett Evans scored his third of the Championships 4:50 into the game. After scoring 50 goals during the regular season, Brody Antignani (3G) scored twice in 34 seconds to give Edge a 2-1 lead heading into the intermission.

Edge would take over in the second as captain Charlie Near scored five-hole from a sharp angle and Antignani completed the hat-trick for his 10th of the Championships. Charlie Usher (1G, 1A) would add a power play goal 1:06 into the third as the Edge lead grew to 5-1.

NAX defenseman Lincoln Baschuk would give his team life with a goal 2:47 later, cutting the deficit to three. NAX would make a late push that saw a couple power play attempts but Caden Stanley (26/28) stood tall making 26 saves. Kyden Bartole put the game to bed with 7:53 remaining, scoring his second of the Championships, to secure the 6-2 Edge win.

Prairie Hockey Academy (24-4-0) vs Northern Alberta Xtreme (23-2-3) U18 Prep

The first place Northern Alberta Xtreme (Devon, AB) and eighth place Prairie Hockey Academy (Caronport, SK) have met just once this season, on February 9th. Prairie would take that game on home ice with a 3-2 overtime win, as Hubert Larose scored just seven seconds into the extra frame. Prairie and NAX sit first and second in goals against, and goal differential, and third and second in goals for.

Prairie is led by a goaltending duo that has given up just 56 goals in 28 games this season. Micah Davidson (14-1-0) and Cameron Beisal (16-2-1) ranked first and third with a 1.80 and 2.18 GAA. Davidson leads the ²´˜·ŠÊ˜·³Çapp U18 Prep division with a .938 SV% and 4 shutouts, while his 14 wins place him second. Offensively, Henry Thunderblanket (13-39-52) sits one point off the league lead with 52 points in 28 games. Rylan Emigh (11-34-45) and Larose (20-24-44) find themselves inside the Top 15 and on the plus side of 40. Seven Prairie skaters have at least 20 points while all skaters (minimum 15 games played) find themselves with double digits. Captain Ryland Molde (6-28-34) leads the Prairie defensive core with 6 goals, 28 assists and 34 points.

With 69 goals against in 28 games, Nate Stevens (11-1-1) and Tyler Swanson (12-1-2) find themselves fourth and ninth in goals against average, with Stevens sitting sixth with a .924 SV% and tied for third with Beisal with three shutouts. 2007 born forward Ben Deacon paces the NAX offence with 33 assists and 46 points in 27 games. NAX has relied heavily on their depth this season, with 13 skaters having 20 or more points and all but one player having double digit points. That singular NAX skater is defensive defenseman Reid Soper (1-4-5), who is a 2024 WHL Draft second round pick who has made his WHL debut with the Lethbridge Hurricanes this season. Darius Hordal (7-25-32) leads the NAX defensive core with 32 points, good enough for sixth among all U18 Prep defensemen. With 14 goals, Saskatoon Blades prospect Liam Eisnor (14-11-25) leads all U18 Prep defensemen.

Sunday, February 16, 2025 – 10:45am PST: Planet Ice Delta – Canadian

The visiting side has won both games with third ranked Delta Hockey Academy (Delta, BC) taking the first matchup on November 8 by a score of 7-3, and eighth Yale Hockey Academy (Abbotsford, BC) taking the rematch 3-2 in November 30.

Defenseman Christopher Kokkoris (3-32-35) leads Yale with 32 assists while sitting third with 35 points. His 35 points are 22 more than any other Yale defender this season. In net, Mason Sutherland (9-4-1) and Gavin Craig (10-4-1) have each played in 16 games this season, combining for a 3.04 GAA, .905 SV% and 3 shutouts.

With 70 goals against in 29 games Delta has given up the third fewest goals against this season. Jack Utsunomiya (9-4-0) sits second with a 2.14 GAA and sixth with a .920 SV%. This will be the second meeting this season between Balmoral Hall School (Winnipeg, MB) and Pilot Mound Hockey Academy (Pilot Mound, MB). Eighth ranked Balmoral won the first matchup on November 29, 2024 by a score of 6-3.

Balmoral is led by a duo of electric forwards who rank first and second in league scoring. 2009 born freshman Madeline McKay (25-25-5) leads all skaters with 25 goals, 50 points, 5 game winning goals, and 2.38 points-per-game in 21 games this season. Bemidji State University commit Maddie Kaiser (21-27-48) sits second in league scoring with 48 points. Another NCAA commit in Makenna Williment (13-18-31) finds herself third in team scoring with 31 points on the season. Julianna DeGroot (3-14-17) leads the Balmoral d-core with 17 points. Edge School (22-6-1) vs Northern Alberta Xtreme (25-3-0) U15 Prep

The first place Northern Alberta Xtreme (Devon, AB) hold a 3-2 season series lead over third place Edge School (Calgary, AB), but it is the visitors who have won the last two meetings and hold an eight game winning steak heading into their matchup on Saturday.

Edge netminder Delano Pockar (12-2-0) sits fourth in the U15 Prep division with 12 wins, sixth with a .919 SV%, and seventh with a 2.51 GAA. Offensively, Edge does not have a skater inside the top 25 for points, instead relying on their depth that sees them have 12 players with 20-plus points and all but one skater has hit double digits. Luke Huska (13-23-26) leads the team with 36 points in 27 games this season, while Keagan Grant (14-17-31) and Grayson Bauer (10-20-30) sit third and fourth while both being on the plus side of 30. The Edge d-core has been a driving factor in their offence this season. Easton Perzylo (5-27-32) sits second in team scoring with Remy Koch (9-21-30) fourth and Ethan Parkinson (8-21-29) fifth. Among all ²´˜·ŠÊ˜·³Çapp U15 Prep defenders they rank fourth, eighth, and ninth in scoring.
