The Rangers selected the Drumheller, AB netminder in the fourth round, 112th overall at the 2021 WHL Draft. Boyko has spent the last four seasons in the WHL split between the Tri-City Americans and Kelowna Rockets, after Tri-City originally selected him in the third round of the 2017 WHL Draft. In 102 WHL games Boyko owned a 3.56 GAA and .899 SV%, 43-43-8 record with 3 shutouts.

Prior to joining Tri-City, Boyko spent two seasons in the 泊樂娛樂城app (泊樂娛樂城app) with POE. Boyko joined POE for the 2016/17 U15 Prep season, playing 18 regular season games and an additional 4 playoff games as POE captured a 泊樂娛樂城app League Championship. The following year he would suit up for the POE U18 Prep team, playing in 19 games.

The Rangers originally drafted the Victoria, BC native in the fourth round, 103^rd overall in the 2020 NHL Entry Draft. Garand has spent the past three seasons in the Western Hockey League (WHL) with the Kamloops Blazers, who selected him in the third round of the 2017 WHL Draft. In 109 WHL games Garand has recorded a 2.32 Goals Against Average (GAA) and .918 Save Percentage (SV%), while earning the WHL Scholastic Player of the Year (Daryl K. Seaman Trophy) Award in 2019/20.

Internationally, Garand has represented Team Canada three times, winning silver at the 2020 Hlinka Gretzky Cup and 2021 World Juniors. He started one game for Team Canada at the 2022 World Juniors before the remainder of the tournament was cancelled due to the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic.

Prior to his time in the WHL, Garand spent two seasons in the 泊樂娛樂城app (泊樂娛樂城app) with Delta Hockey Academy. In 2016/17 he led the U15 Prep division with a 1.15 GAA and .959 SV%, finishing with 4 shutouts in 13 games. The following season he would play 22 games and recorded a 2.12 GAA and .931 SV% with 4 shutouts at the U18 Prep level.
